What can Botox do? Let’s find out! Here at LuminaSkin we use Botox in the treatment of migraines, excessive sweating, crows feet, frown lines, softening square jaws, and much more!
1. Migraines– Botox was approved by the FDA in 2010 for the treatment of headaches. A reasonable percentage of people not responsive to traditional treatment have shown improvements with Botox treatments. All Botox treatments last anywhere from 3-6 months and most people need several treatments per year.
2. Sweating-Excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis is debilitating to people that are heavy sweaters. Botox is able to deactivate the nerves that control the sweat glands, keeping someone more noticeably dry. People are commonly treated with Botox in the underarm and palms of the hand, alleviating them from the inconvenience of excessive sweating.
3. Square Jaws-When some women look in the mirror, they cringe at the sight of their square jaws. While traditional plastic surgery can soften the jaw line, increasingly providers in the United States are injecting Botox into muscles of the face to thin the jawline. The FDA has not approved this use, but that does not necessarily mean it is less safe. For example, Botox to treat crows’ feet is not approved, but is a common treatment.
4. Crows Feet/Frown Lines– For cosmetic purposes, Botox is used to treat the lines around your eyes and the frown lines between you eyes. After treatment, people will notice a softening or complete disappearance of lines as well as a subtle, youthful lift. It is recommended to have treatments every 3-4 months.
