Kristen’s Kybella Experience

My double chin and lower face profile has always been something that bothers me. After working in aesthetics for years as a Physician Assistant, I knew my only option was surgery until the introduction of KYBELLA! KYBELLA is a non-surgical injectable that reduces moderate to severe fat below the chin, the area commonly known as a “double chin.” The injection contains a naturally occurring substance in the body, Deoxycholic Acid which helps the body absorb fat cells. Ultimately, KYBELLA permanently, yes permanently, destroys fat cells. On average, 2-3 treatments are needed spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. The treatment itself takes approximately twenty minutes and is very comfortable. Post treatment one can expect swelling, bruising, and, redness. Temporary numbness can also be present for up to 2 months following injection and that is because the fat cells are slowly being destroyed. The great thing about this treatment is that the results get better and better over time.

I am in between my first and second treatment and am already so happy with my results! I had the KYBELLA treatment done during my lunch break and I treated my entire panel of patients in the afternoon with no issues or negative side effects! I noticed most of my swelling occurred during the first few days and then subsided to a more minimal swelling following this. I am so excited to have my second treatment this month to see my results. Given that I have always struggled with a weak chin profile, I am getting rid of my double chin with KYBELLA and then building volume to my chin with Voluma and Vollure, both dermal fillers.
